Do you ever feel like your days are spinning out of control? You want to work to simplify your life, but you just can’t keep track of your days! Trust me, I’ve been there. Some days, I am still there. But, I have learned that life runs so much more smoothly when I plan. Also, I don’t forget things as much. There are a ton of reasons to plan, so stick around to find out why you need to plan.
Planning simplifies life.
This is my absolute number one reason for why you need to plan. I am working really hard to simplify my life, and I think this is the number one way to do so. Life cannot be anything but complicated if you have no idea what you are doing on a day-to-day basis. The tasks and to-dos of each day totally control your life. You can’t ever work on your relationship with God, rest, or even enjoy life if you are running on this hamster wheel.
The only way off the hamster wheel is to buy a planner and go plan. If you don’t think there is a planner out there for you, please go check out my post on different types of planners!
Planners give you a central hub for your life.
Everyone needs a “central hub” for their life: a place to corral all of the loose ends, plan, dream big, and make sure to remember when trash day is (because the results of forgetting are disastrous!). Let me introduce you to your new central hub: your planner. All central hubs look and work differently (We will get into that later.), but the fact remains that everyone needs one. A planner works perfectly.
Planning allows me to make time for rest.
This is something that I struggle with a lot! But, when I am making my to do list, I can clearly see if I am overbooking my schedule or creating an impossible to do list. If I don’t plan, I just run willy-nilly through the day and collapse in bed–totally exhausted– at the end of the day. This is not enjoyable, and I am willing to bet you don’t enjoy days like these either. So just start planning!
Planning gives me time to prioritize.
One thing I have been doing since focusing on planning my days, weeks, etc. is having my top three tasks identified and marked every day. In order to do so, I have to decide what must get done that day. And, in order to do that, I have to have my priorities in order. I have to have a game plan (such as my weekly schedule). If I don’t plan, I have no idea what my priorities even are!
These are just a few simple reasons why you need to plan. And now, I have a big announcement!! I am currently creating an email-based e-course on how to create your own Simple Life Game Plan. This five day course will teach you how to create a personalized plan to simplify your own life and make time for what matters to you.
And all you have to do to receive this e-course is sign up for my weekly newsletter! The course will be available by the end of July, so sign up soon! (If you are already signed up for my weekly newsletter, please sign up again below to make sure you receive the course.)
